Blacktop Maintenance Linemarking ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect your personal information, and is provided in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website www.blacktoplinemarking.com.au and to the services we provide.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry through our quote form, contact us, or engage us for work, we collect the details you provide — your name, phone number, email address, business/company name (if any), the site address or location of the job, your description of the work, your preferred or urgency date, and any photos or files you choose to upload to help us quote.
Information collected automatically. When you use our website we automatically collect usage and device data, including your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, referring pages, the date, time and duration of your visit, and similar diagnostic data. This is collected through analytics cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies and consent below) and only where you have consented.
How we use your information
- To prepare and discuss your quote and to provide, schedule and carry out our line-marking services.
- To contact you by phone, email, SMS or other electronic means about your enquiry or job.
- To improve our website and services by understanding how visitors use the site (analytics).
- For marketing — to send you news, offers and information about services similar to those you have enquired about. You can opt out at any time (see Your rights and choices).
- To meet our legal obligations and to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
Cookies and consent
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary functionality (and your cookie choice itself) does not require consent. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you accept them via the consent banner shown when you first visit. We implement Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept, analytics and advertising storage are set to denied and no analytics or advertising cookies are placed. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by declining on the banner, or by clearing your browser's site data for this website (which will make the banner appear again). Disabling these cookies will not affect your ability to request a quote.
Third parties we share data with
Pipedrive (CRM). When you submit the quote form, the details and any files you provide are sent to and stored in our customer relationship management system, Pipedrive, which we use to manage and respond to enquiries. Pipedrive processes this information on our behalf under its own privacy and security terms.
Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics to understand website usage. Where you have consented, Google sets cookies and processes usage data (including a truncated IP address) on our behalf. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out site-wide using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google Ads. Where you have consented, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. This may set advertising cookies and share conversion events with Google.
Google Maps. Our contact section embeds a Google Map showing our service area. Loading the map may involve Google receiving your IP address and setting cookies under Google's terms.
Law enforcement and legal. We may disclose your information where required or authorised by law, or in response to a valid request by a court or government agency.
We do not sell your personal information.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Information held in Pipedrive and Google services may be stored or processed on servers located outside Australia; we only use providers that maintain appropriate security and contractual protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take all reasonable measures to safeguard your data.
How long we keep it
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy — to provide our services, maintain our business records, and meet our legal obligations — after which it is deleted or de-identified. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics retention settings.
Your rights and choices
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, or request that we delete it where we are not required to keep it by law. You may also withdraw consent to analytics/advertising cookies (see Cookies and consent) and unsubscribe from marketing at any time. To make a request, contact us at quotes@blacktopmaintenance.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at quotes@blacktopmaintenance.com.au so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
